I use these to isolate yeast cultures for my brewing yeast library. When these came in the mail I noticed right away that they were smaller than the standard ones I used in the microbiology lab at school. I was disappointing until I realized that I could still isolate cultures and I would be saving on agar/medium.

These come sealed in ethylene oxide gas which keeps them sterile ...but it's poisonous... so make sure you open it somewhere away from your face. Nice to not have to sterilize them for the first use. I plated two different strains of yeast last night and tonight they are both growing well. I would buy these again.

Edit. I tried to steam sanitize these on low heat and they still warped. You have to stick with chemical sanitization or buy glass.
