Beautiful faucet, but I have learned just enough to be dangerous when it comes to trying to fit faucets and drain pipes to compatible sinks. This particular faucet and grid drain combo should work well with a sink that has an overflow. My sink does not have an overflow, and my assumption (wrong here) is that no vessel sink has an overflow. Apparently some do, and if yours does, then you may well be delighted with both the faucet and the grid drain that comes with it. But I urge you to verify before you buy. The type of sink is what controls the type of drain pipe, or so I have come to believe. I spoke with American Standard. They do not make any grid drain pipe that is suitable for a sink without an overflow. For sinks with no overflow, a separate drain pipe from another manufacturer is necessary, and that is what I am doing, because the faucet itself, as I said before, is beautiful and appears to work well. Amazon also sells this item without a grid drain -- just the faucet itself. I wish I had understood that because that is what I would have ordered. So, if your sink does have an overflow, and you want a grid drain, then this item should work well, but if your vessel sink has no overflow, then check carefully to determine what drain fitting you will be able to use. This particular faucet is not suitable for use with a pop up drain. I didn't want a pop up drain, and again, I assumed it would work as I wanted. Good luck! I gave the faucet 5 stars and the drain that came with it no stars, since it wasn't usable, and averaged the two.
