I've had this for about 3 years and love it. It's rugged and sturdy, and works for all sorts of vacuuming jobs. It's noisy, but all shop vacuums are, so no big deal there. The hose has a clip on the end that keeps it locked into the body of the unit. This is a nice touch that allows you to pull the vacuum around the room without having the hose pull off.

The filter lasts a long time with proper care. I'm still using the filter that came with it, and all I do is knock it against a hard surface (like the inside of a dumpster) to get the dust off. Just remember that when you use this vacuum to suck up water, just take the filter off (otherwise it is ruined).

Ridgid makes excellent shop vacuums, for less cost than brands like Shop-Vac. I'm glad I bought this.
