I see a lot of people writing reviews for these bottles saying they're bottling vanilla extracts and such. You're likely putting yourself and also the people who may eat your foods or buy your extract at risk. By the description, these bottles have a PVC lining for lab purposes, in case a dangerous chemical gets dropped and the glass breaks. Look up PVC on Wikipedia and click the Health Risks section. While I'm sure it makes a great lab safety feature, PVC is no good for the lining of something that you're going to ingest.

In searching for the same bottles on Amazon, I haven't found a suitable product available here. So if you need a larger amber glass container like this one for food or herb extracts etc, search google for "amber glass boston round 16 oz" or whatever size you are looking for. Furthermore, pay attention to the caps that come with the bottles, as some may not be suitable for an alcohol extract like so many of the reviewers here are using it for.

I've had both pads with the plastic and fabric backing. These fabric pads are more durable as for wear and tear. Won't buy the pads with plastic backing again. Fabric pads on average lasted 10-15 uses verses plastic 3-5 uses.

These bottles work well for lots of stuff. They are thick enough to last. The top screws on, securely. I'll be sad when I inevitably lose the red tip, though. I wish a 12 pack of replacement tips were easily available.

When dispensing acetone, the screw on top is not completely leakproof. But hey, that's acetone. The top is very secure for almost any other glue, acid, oil, solvent, or finish you might want to store and dispense from this container.
