The scale looked either used or built really really bad with one screw above where you put the battery stripped and another screw on the outer part of the case that just fell off. The Scale showed weight with nothing on it, calibrated it multiple times and same ole thing. Everything else in the package worked good. I gave the seller a chance to make it right but I never got a response, called and emailed them. Now I have to send the whole thing back when all I need is another scale.

The instruction came with this item does not tell much about how to use it correctly, so I was having a problem with inconsistent reading at first.

After trying a few things, I realized my water lever was a bit too low. Remove the black cover, then make sure the entire part where the cover was placed is to be soaked in testing water. I did not realize for a while but the picture posted by the seller is showing the correct way.

I have used it over 100 times now but still works very well. Great product for such a great price. I would definitely recommend to others.

Celestron Digital Microscope Imager 44421 Review

The camera takes very good pictures (2 MP) and acceptable (VGA resolution) videos PROVIDED it is used with appropriate software. The Celestron software that came with the camera was absolutely useless when used on a Windows XP platform, the picture refresh rate was horrible, i.e., the picture shown on the computer screen was updated only every few seconds or so, which made microscope manual focusing virtually impossible and made using the camera very frustrating. Things got much better once I switched to Adobe Photoshop for image capture, and to InterVideo WinDVD Creator for video capture (both overkill for the task at hand, and I did spend one more day selecting and testing the software - the problem was complicated by the fact that the laptop I was using had an incorporated webcam which would could not be distinguished from the microscope camera by other software). Truth be told, though, one could get away with using the camera for taking pictures with no additional sofware (from Control Panel, Printers and Other Hardware, Scanners and Cameras, then right click on the USB camera and use the pop-up menus directly in Windows for image capture and saving), but I wanted a program that would allow for better logging of the pictures.
Bottom line, I use the camera in conjunction with a Celestron 44104 microscope in lieu of the 10x or 12.5x eyepieces (the camera is 15x), and my initial concerns about mechanical adaptability were unfounded, it does have an adaptor ring that fits the microscope quite nicely. The pictures are very good, and I am very happy with it, I would have given it four stars if I hadn't had to spend so much time finding software that would actually make it work to its full potential (other people may have to shop around for software, and that's a considerable additional expense).

Unfortunately, this device isn't worth the money if you want use it as anything other than a digital magnifying glass. Absolute practical zoom limit around 40x. Any higher power cannot be focused except to get it INSIDE the plastic shield, but 200x would likely be in direct contact with the lens. There is no manual focus control. The included software is useless for Windows, looks to be a bit better for mac. Windows install includes the driver and an "application" with less features than a youtube video. The stand is weak, loosens effortlessly but at least it's real metal. The zoom/random-wrong-focus-selector is made of plastic. So is the on/off switch for the light, the activate/record button (which launches the software), and the front end of the device.

Even between 20x and 40x there is a total lack of focusability. There is no software and no documentation to correct this. There wasn't so much as an advert for other agptek stuff included in the box -- this thing is entirely undocumented and it makes me question the shining reviews from people who only used it to view coins and the like. Calling it a microscope is a complete misnomer, it cannot view anything microscopic. And in the case of the 800x model, you definitely had to at least be paying for it with that utility in mind. I'm returning mine for being completely unlike its advertising. The only way it could really be worse is if it didn't output images at all. In light of that fact, one star.

Any other would-be buyers, feel free to ask questions on this device, I *highly* recommend you look elsewhere.

Carson Microbrite 20X-40X Zoom LED Lighted Pocket Microscope Review

Got this based on the blurb on CoolTools. The 20-40x magnification lets you see a surprising amount of detail; more useful and interesting than I expected. LED is well-positioned, plenty bright enough, and nicer white color than the old incandescents that cheap microscopes were always saddled with.

Cheap, unfussy, and very easy to use; enough so that my five-year-old has used it to examine every flat surface and textile in the house, plus hair, paper, her own fingerprints...it's been a stream of "Oh! That's amazing! Look at that!"

No idea on battery life; the momentary light switch (you have to hold it on) is a little frustrating when you're trying to focus on something tricky, but on the other hand it won't be left on either.

Oh! Make sure to look at a "white" pixel on your LCD or iPhone.

Highly recommended. If this breaks, we'll buy another.

Here's the product I reviewed WITH the loop... Nalgene HDPE Wide Mouth Bottle

This review is for the 32oz version of this bottle.

Simply stated, after having tried many types of water bottles, this Nalgene bottle is superior to them all.

I have had these Nalgene bottles for over 10 years and have taken them all over the world, and not once have any of them leaked or broken. I have also never had to replace the cap and I always carry it by the loop. I use mine everyday as I pack my own lunch and carry my own water.

Due to this bottle being somewhat see-through, it is nice and very handy to be able to see the water level with marked graduations on the side. But the best part for me about this Nalgene bottle is that YOU CAN FREEZE IT! I like to fill it up halfway, to the 16 oz point and then stick it in the freezer at an angle with the lid cracked. Once it's frozen I fill it up the rest of the way with water and have ice cold water for hours. I tried doing this exact method with the Lexan/Tritan version of the Nalgene's (the colored pretty ones) and they cracked after a few months. Because the Lexan/Tritan version is so rigid they can't stand up to repetitive expansion/contraction. This model is firm and holds its shape, but yet is flexible enough to be frozen repetitively without any ill effect. Sometimes the bottom will bulge due to the freezing, but it doesn't crack the bottle and after it thaws it goes back to the original shape. FYI, you can't freeze stainless steel bottles because it will break the weld.

I've used the bottles with iodine tablets and over the course of 6 weeks the iodine did stain the inside of the bottle. However, it did not effect the taste of the water when I wasn't using iodine tablets after my trip.

When I was in the mountains in Nepal I would fill it up with boiling water and sleep with it to keep me warm. Perfect. It didn't last all night, but it was great.

I like that I can carry three bottles at the same time with one finger. Very handy if you're camping and you're filling up water bottles from a stream far away from your campsite.

Water filters fit the big mouth perfectly. Also, the big mouth is nice because you can dip it down low to gather water from shallow sources. This task is sometimes impossible with narrow-mouth water bottles. You can also stick a scouring pad inside it to clean it and it's dishwasher safe. If you like drinking from the narrow-mouth bottles, they make flexible plastic inserts that you can use with the wide-mouths so you can have the best of both worlds. It takes about a half-second to put one on and take it off, and you can keep it installed even with the lid screwed on.

I have a few older Lexan Nalgene's that I threw out because they contained BPA (look for the triangle with the 7 in it to see if you have a BPA version). Any Nalgene you buy now will be BPA-free (this is the only difference between the old Lexan line and the new Tritan line). This version has always been BPA-free, which is nice.

It does not fit in a bicycle water bottle carrier nor does it fit in a cars cup holder. Also, when I have ice water in it, it sweats a good bit. If this is a problem for you, they make little cozies for it that will prevent this and also keep it insulated.

I can't recommend this version of the Nalgene enough. Every few years I think "hey, its been awhile I'm sure there is a better bottle out there somewhere." I need to just realize that this Nalgene bottle is perfect as-is. I'm grateful that Nalgene hasn't gone away from their original design as so many companies seek to "improve" their products. I have looked at many different brands and companies, and simply stated, there is no bottle out there that can do what this one can. It's not as sexy or pretty as other water bottles out there (or even the newer Nalgene's), but in my mind, it is most definitely the best.
